Bloom Estate - VIC

Location:  Clyde North, VIC

Client:  Five Squared Property Group

Collaborators:  Creative Road (Artist Management), Matthew Harding (Artist) UDL Group (Landscape Contractor)

Located in the City of Casey, part of the South Eastern Growth corridor in Melbourne, Bloom Estate is a small to medium residential estate of 127 residential allotments.

Working as landscape architects for this project, Landsite created the Master Plan, dealt with council approvals, oversaw the street plantings the road frontage.  to design the streetscapes of the estate and together with Creative Road we curated and oversaw the implementation, construction and installation of the Billy Button sculpture series.

The name of the estate – Bloom  - set the floral motif or theme for the artworks, as well as each stage of the development.

The entry sign was a pre-fabricated tilt slab panel with an embossed logo, we also undertook the landscape design for the marketing and sales office of the estate.

Landsite was approached by the client to undertake the installation of a public artwork. With Creative Road, we recommended Matt Harding, who met with the client. Matt then put forward three options of which Billy Buttons was chosen.

Landsite went through the design development, detail design, liaising with council and guiding council through the whole process. On completion of the public artwork installation, the project was handed over to the City of Casey and has become part of their Cultural Collection and is now in ownership of the people.
