Location:
 Brisbane River, Brisbane, Queensland

Client:  Brisbane City Council

Collaborators:  Creative Road (Lead Consultants)

Lead by Creative Road, The River Art Framework provided a plan for delivering a connected series of public art works and cultural experiences along the inner-city reaches of the Brisbane River.

This framework plan established a case for investment in public art outcomes along the Brisbane river while creating a sophisticated and innovative public domain, distinguishing Brisbane as one of the world’s great creative cities.

The framework included a review of existing land use, constraints and opportunities. This prompted a key site analysis identifying new potential sites for the commissioning of public art as well as spaces for temporary visual art and event activities, key gateways, focal points and other opportunities to create an impact along the Brisbane River.

Landsite conducted site investigations and in collaboration with Creative Road, selection of sites for specific art pieces, providing detailed urban design and landscape analysis of the project sites. Landsite also contributed to parts of the report writing, mapping, graphic support, suggestions for new art installations, and coordinated graphic designers and renderers to represent potential art pieces in situ.

The final report includes a delivery framework and schedule to implement all projects identified, with associated cost and timing estimates.
