North Sydney Public Art Trail

North Sydney Public Art Trail - NSW

Location:
 Sydney, NSW

Client: North Sydney Council

Collaborators:  Creative Road Art Projects

This project was designed both as a public art trail and also to lay the strategy foundations for future public art inclusions in a walking tour designed to take in the North Sydney area, including the Sydney Harbour foreshore, the CBD and adjacent residential areas.

Landsite was involved in the mapping, design of and identifying future sites, graphics for final reporting, landscape and urban design advice, and detailed design for the installation of three of the artwork sites.

The trail was designed with accessibility a major factor in the identification of sites for installations, as well as inclusions of existing artworks both privately and publicly owned.

The trail is designed as a self-guided tour, with members of the public accessing difference pieces and locations via the use of an app with GPS functionality. The NORTH ARTS walking tour app provides information and images for the trail's 18 stops, as well as a locational map. There were two routes of varying distance created to suit a range of mobilities.

Landsite is proud to not only have been  involved in the conceptualisation and strategy behind this program, but also in the implementation realisation of the project.
